3. Breakdown of Masonry Quantities

This includes a wide range of materials such as concrete masonry units, bricks, CMU blocks, acoustic blocks, glass units, clay bricks, clay tiles, brick tiles, stones, marble, limestone, terra cotta, precast masonry panels, rubble, and their various forms (e.g., corner units, pilaster units, bond beams, lintel blocks, knockouts, stirrups, sill block, angle block, square pilasters, headers, halves, half high, etc.).
• Deductions for openings, such as doors, windows, and ventilation, are also considered.
• The number of facing bricks and masonry veneer, as well as stone veneer and brick veneer if required.
• Masonry units categorized for different purposes, including facings, backings to facings, walls and partitions, furring to walls, and fire protection.

Estimating Mortar and Grout Requirements

We calculate the amount of mortar required based on factors like whether it is pre-bagged or site batching, mortar proportions, site conditions, and the type of mortar (e.g., masonry cement mortar, pre-blended mortar, or portland cement lime mortar). Similarly, the amount of grout needed is determined, taking into account the density of the concrete block used, along with accounting for wastages.
